Our changing planet and global health and food networks present complex challenges for the future.  The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation estimate that 20-40% of the world's harvests are lost to crop pests and diseases.  The World Health Organisation estimates that over 700, 000 people die each year from mosquito borne diseases, with millions more suffering ill health.  Almost  half the planet's population is at risk from infection by soil transmitted  worm parasites with devastating health and socio-economic impact.

This workshop explores the complex global challenges we face, as international experts discuss new solutions for control of vectors pests and parasites drawing on their expertise in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology, genetics and clinical and field studies.
